They're known as a leaf-litter worm, living in the top 3-6 of the soil, doing best living in the litter covering the top soil or soils rich in organic matter. They are an excellent composting worm choice due to their adaptability and tolerance to a wide range of temperatures. Whether you're new to vermicomposting aka worm composting or worm farming or not, nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment when you're able to harvest your very own fresh, earthy scented worm castings. Red Wiggler Worms quickly process your food scraps and organic waste into an all-natural, nutrient-rich cast which saves you time and money. They are a smaller worm variety, averaging 1-3 long with a skinnier or thinner diameter than most of the worms you'd see in your yard.
