Answer (1 of 10): Opinions vary in different jurisprudence schools. Shia in particular, have strong Hadith condemning eating of anything from sea except fish with scales and shrimp. However, none of these Hadith ever call it Haram, they simply strongly suggest to the Shia not to eat these foods.
